Jim was hired by Local 7 in 2018. He was hired as a Union Organizer, was later promoted to be the Organizing Director, and recently transitioned to a Retail Director.

Jim became a UFCW Local 7 member in 1988 when he was hired as a courtesy clerk at King Soopers in Littleton. “I came from a Union family, my father was a Teamsters member, driving and working in a warehouse for Dixon Paper Company in Denver Co.”

As a rank-and-file member, Jim was a courtesy clerk, service desk clerk, day grocery clerk, night crew grocery clerk, produce clerk, checker, booth clerk, head clerk, district booth auditor, service manager and grocery manager before moving up to upper management in multiple stores. “I was always a manager who valued my associates and supported them in their careers.”

After 30 years in the grocery store, Jim was called to come work at Local 7. “As I was the only store manager walking with my employees on the Walmart picket line, I was honored to come work for the members of UFCW Local 7.”

Jim lives in Littleton with his wife and pets.  He loves spending time with his 6 grandkids and riding his motorcycle.
