Jimena started with UFCW Local 7 in 2017 in the Membership Records department while she perused her bachelor's degree in psychology and criminal justice. Once she graduated, she was excited to devote more time to the Union and be more involved and was promoted to the Organizing department. 

While in organizing, Jimena was able to win multiple campaigns during her 5 years as an organizer. She organized the first Grow House in Denver, Green Dragon and also the first Distillery in Colorado, Stranahan's to Local 7.  Every campaign that she has worked on was her favorite! She loved the ability to pull picket lines in front of the company's business to draw attention to how low the company would go to shut down the voice and power of their employees wanting better. She also loved assisting with bargaining the member’s first contract and seeing the excitement of workers being able to have a say in their workplace. 

Jimena was promoted to Organizing Director in April of 2024 and is honored to worked for UFCW Local 7 as an executive staff member serving the members of Local 7 and she will continue to work hard to organize and grow our union.
